FIFES Foundation exists to defend the health, safety, and legal rights of women and children across Nigeria, through advocacy, free legal aid, and healthcare that reaches the communities the system leaves behind.
Our Story
Safe. Heard. Protected.FIFES Foundation for Women and Children's Rights Protection is a not-for-profit, non-political organisation registered in Nigeria to promote access to healthcare and uphold the human rights of women and children, through advocacy, free legal support, and community-based health programs.
We were founded on a simple conviction: rights that exist only in law don't protect anyone. Protection has to show up in clinics, in courtrooms, in communities that have never had either.
This work contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals on good health and well-being (Goal 3), gender equality (Goal 5), and peace, justice and strong institutions (Goal 16).

Protect
Promote access to healthcare and uphold human rights for women and children in Nigeria through advocacy, free legal support and community-based health programmes.
Empower
Offer support services such as basic healthcare, counselling, free legal aid and empowerment programmes for women, children, persons with disabilities and other underserved populations.
Advocate
Conduct advocacy on health and human rights issues affecting women, children, persons with disabilities and other underserved populations, with a focus on improving policies and legal protections.
Reach
Establish and run community outreach programmes and mobile health services that provide free health education and preventive care to underserved areas.

FIFES Foundation is directed by a Board of Trustees elected for five-year terms under Article 4 of our constitution. All income and property are applied solely to our objectives, no part is paid to trustees or members as profit (Article 13), and trustees receive no salary or fees, only repayment of expenses actually incurred (Article 13). Accounts are kept in the Foundation's name and audited every year by independent licensed auditors, with audited financial statements presented to the Annual General Meeting and filed with the Corporate Affairs Commission (Articles 10 and 11).
